Matheus Ortega is a writer, artist and follower of Jesus. With a Master's degree in International Development from the London School of Economics, he has managed more than US$20 million in sustainable development projects with cities in Latin America, Africa and Asia and with international organizations such as the UK Government, the World Bank, the UN and C40. Matheus lives in São Paulo, is a member of Relevans church, married to Bruna and father of Levi and João.

His trajectory was profoundly impacted by the earthquake in Haiti in 2010. With the support of international organizations (British Council and Global Changemakers), Matheus created a Music School in Port-au-Prince, and participated in several global events on social transformation, such as Google Zeitgeist and Global Youth Summit. At 23, Matheus became the youngest Brazilian to participate in the World Economic Forum (link).

In 2011, Matheus obtained a full Chevening scholarship from the UK government to study a Master's degree in International Development at the London School of Economics. As he grew professionally, he continued to study the topics of wealth, poverty and inequality. In 2017, he specialized in Future of Cities at the University of Oxford.

In 2018-2021, Matheus coordinated the development of the first Climate Action Plan in the history of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. Since then, he has supported several cities around the world, conducting training workshops in countries such as Colombia, Rwanda and India. In 2023, he launched an online course on Integrated Climate Action Planning for cities, which is available online for free.

In addition to his work with sustainable urban development and the Kingdom Economy ministry, Matheus studied film and documentary in London and has produced several films, such as Forget-Me-Not (San Patrignano, Italy, 2012) and Pedalando no Sertão (Piauí, Brazil, 2013). He is also the composer of songs such as Revolução do Amor (2010), Folha no Vento (2011) and Nova Esperança (2017), and has recorded saxophone and flutes with various artists, such as Oficina G3, Nívea Soares and Chris Duran.
